Why People Should Watch "The Soup"

"The Soup" is a hilarious clip show hosted by Joel McHale (NBC's "Community"), which plays the most interesting and funny clips that aired on TV in the previous week. Joel comments on the clips with the help of his staff of interns. Most of the clips come from reality shows, but there are quite a few news, talk show, and even some home shopping network clips. The clips are broken into popular categories like "Chicks, Man", "Reality Show Clip Time", "Tales from Home Shopping", "Chat Stew", and of course the "Clip of the Week". Most of the clips show the most ridiculous moments that happened on TV. Most of the time, it is hard to believe that people actually watch some of this stuff. The show has running gags that viewers will catch on to after a few viewings of the show. For instance, Ryan Seacrest is often made fun of for his height, but it is all in good fun. It never fails to bring laughs. Sound bytes also appear quite frequent whether it is Kate Gosselin screaming,"Come and get some popcorn!" or Spencer Pratt saying, "That's the problem". They just add to the humor of the show and regular viewers can not get enough of them.

The E! network, in which "The Soup" airs, is also a frequent target. If you are a fan of those ridiculous shows like "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" or "The Girls Next Door", "The Soup" is probably not for you. These shows are on the show pretty much every week. Basically, unless you watch scripted network shows, none of your shows are safe. But even some of those shows get made fun of. "The Soup" is all in good fun and it never fails to bring laughs. So many people that I know have gotten hooked on it just like I have. Joel McHale is just hilarious and the clips never cease to amaze me with their stupidity.
